Screen time is its own advocate. My beliefs about fresh air, regular meals and limited screen time have been challenged with hard research evidence – found on the internet of course, e.g:
- Pale skin absorbs Vitamin D 5 times faster than dark skin…which is a good counter argument for my need to get her out in the fresh air.
- Snacking on nuts and fruit really is healthier than eating two large meals a day.
Young people are my allies in being more likely to adopt a meat free diet than my contemporaries, and they know why they should, too.
Young people worry a lot about what is happening in the world and, more importantly, have good ideas how to change it.
Young people are more tolerant and equality minded than my generation.
However, my adult dignity is preserved by smuggling my home grown kale into almost any recipe without it being noticed...AND...I reserve my right to worry that if I forget to wake her up one morning she may just sleep until the following morning and miss a whole day. She probably wouldn’t care, but I would miss a precious day… so I’m off to wake her now.
